Happy Birthday To Me… In LA!
Last week I celebrated my 27th birthday - in total style, at Au Lac restaurant in Los Angeles. For those of you who haven't heard of this raw food restaurant, it's one of the best I've ever been to (and I've eaten at a lot of raw restos). Chef Ito and his team makes the most incredible food that you would swear is cooked - like fluffy bread, melt-in-your-mouth donut holes with a gooey chocolate center, and "fried" rice. Another interesting thing about Chef Ito is that he took a vow of silence 10 years ago - that's right! He motions and finds ways to communicate, but remains silent. The energy he puts into his food and his customers is 100% pure love.

For the first time ever, I had a raw birthday cake made for me (normally I make my own). I was super stoked for this! The cake was layers of creamy goodness, including a durian layer. Mmm

Alex and I decided to dig in with our hands at the end 🙂 I've always wanted to do that.
...and then smeared it on each other's faces!
