This is a bit of a random post with the latest happenings around here...
Last weekend I taught a raw food class which is always fun. I love to share this lifestyle with people. We plowed through heaps of recipes for the beginner who wants to incorporate easy recipes and ideas into their lifestyle.

In the kitchie... we had nori rolls goin on, choco berry pie, drinks, dips, etc etc...
Back in the kitchie, I played with chocolate covered granola bars! I used the Super Granola Bar recipe and Basic Dark Chocolate recipe both from Just Desserts. I didn't dehydrate the bars, but instead pressed the dough into a seran wrap lined pan, froze it for a few hours then sliced into bars and dipped into the chocolate. The result is hard chocolate on the outside and a nice soft oatmeal granola bar on the inside. Mmmm!


Made mini cakes for an event: Black & Whites, and Strawberry.
A friend came for dinner this week... simple and quick nori rolls were on the menu. Since I'm not a fan of cauliflower, I prefer a parsnip rice (parsnips, cashews, lemon juice, salt zapped in the food processor), rolled with red pepper, avocado, spinach, and carrot. We enjoyed these with caesar salad. The jackfruit ice cream was for dessert.

    That all looks absolutely fabulous! I just bought a nut milk bag for the first time today. I have tons of Brazil nuts and I have a feeling they will make a really creamy milk. ;)<br /><br />I also went to Pure Food & Wine for the first time today and had an amazing raw lasagna. I'd love to learn to make it - to recreate the fabulous dish for myself. That place was great but it sure was expensive!

    Aloha Heathy, Thank you for your message. I know Maui very well but not so much about the other Hawaiian islands. I think the area that would interest you the most on Maui would be Paia and Haiku on our north shore. Lot's of vegan friendly places to eat as well as yoga centers.     Random posts are my favorite. They are so natural.<br /><br />One of these days I need to order your e-book. Since I'm still on unpaid maternity leave, the hubby doesn't like me to be making "unnecessary purchases." I'd love to know what is in your granola bars. Yum! I'm sure I'll find out eventually. My birthday is only a couple months away.

    Oh my gosh, the chocolate covered granola bars look amazing! And whatever that pink sweet is at the top of the post looks delicious.

    I wish I live farther east as I would be sitting in the first row of your class:) Everything looks aweseome. You are an inspriration! I made nori rolls on the weekend but they didn't look half as good as yours lol!
