The Journey Part 2- Viktoras Event & Halloween
On Saturday (day 7 of our juice fast), we headed down to The Raw Retreat Mansion on the Palm Coast for a Viktoras Kulvinskas talk. Adam, another chef, and I made the dinner for the event - of course we couldn't eat any of it... but I was used to not eating by that point so temptation didn't seem to be an issue.
We made sure to hit the beach before heading into the kitchie for food prep. It was a gorgeous day!
It just so happens that my online friend Eva Rawposa lives in Jacksonville, and was the Viktoras talk so we got to meet in person! We had a grand time, she's such a sweetheart.
It was so fun to work in this beautiful kitchen! We had a hoot of a time!
Rawkin good times!
On the menu was:
Kale Salad - kale, avocado, tomato, celery, raisins, lemon juice, olive oil, himalayan salt.
Creamy Alfredo Noodles - kelp noodles, almonds, hemp seeds, miso, garlic, lemon juice, salt, apple cider vinegar, thai curry spice, smoked hot pepper.
Pear Sorbet with cinnamon sauce, cacao nibs, goji berries.
Would you believe we had to process our frozen pears through the juicer in the laundry room so as not to make noise in the kitchie while Viktoras was doing his talk. It was rather comical!
Pear Sorbet with Cacao/Goji Goodness on top!
The gals with Viktoras!
That evening we broke our fast with cantaloupe - we wanted watermelon but the store didn't have any... fortunately there was bounds it at the party so we indulged! Happy campers to be eating something again!
Hawaiian Hula Girl and The Juice Pimp!
We made a delish salad to bring to a Halloween party: cantaloup, pomegranate, lime juice, basil, himalayan salt

That brings me to the end of our fast which was a fabulous experience. It's nice to know that I am capable of doing it! Felt great by the end: more energy, bit of weight loss (I know this because my clothes are loose) - which is something I am curious to track next time. I meant to weigh myself at the beginning to see how much I lost, but didn't get around to it.
If you haven't already, give it a try... with a friend or at a fasting center if possible. For me the support was key. I am already looking forward to my next fast!
